Brenda McNeal is licensed to practice Acupuncture in the state of Maryland (L.Ac.). Along with her
Acupuncture practice, she teaches at Howard Community College as an Adjunct Faculty member. Her
background includes years of experience in the healing arts and education. In 2001, she developed the
position of Assistant Director for the Faculty Supervised Student Clinic at the Tai Sophia Institute and worked
closely with their experienced Faculty Practitioners, new clinical students and clinical patients.
In addition to her Master of Acupuncture degree (M.Ac.), she is certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification
Specialist (ADS) and is qualified by the National AcuDetox Association (NADA) to effectively use protocols for
addiction recovery and stress reduction. The Huntington College of Health Sciences awarded her a Diploma of
Comprehensive Nutrition (Dip.C.N.) which adds another dimension to the care she provides her clients.
In keeping with her belief that professional development and lifelong learning makes a better practitioner, she
regularly attends intensive workshops such as Acupuncture’s Efficacy for Fertility Issues, Pain Management
and Battlefield Acupuncture. She is active in regional and national professional associations.
Along with her private practice in Columbia, Maryland, Brenda enjoys working with Howard Community College
students and is proud to provide on-campus acupuncture services through their Wellness Center. HCC
